Meet the Uptain Group Legal Team

Uptain Group is proud to have an on-site legal team as part of the Uptain family!

“Having a full time, on-site legal team has been instrumental in assisting our billing, management, HR and complex claims teams resolve issues timely and proactively. In handling over 125 employees and over 200k newly placed patient accounts per month there will always be new issues that arise we have not dealt with before. Being able to respond accurately and quickly is an investment in providing great customer service for our employees and patients; and we are happy to have Ray and Jennifer as a huge part of that,” says President and CEO, Joseph Uptain.

​Raymond D. Waldrop Jr. was born in Alexander City, AL. He attended Auburn University and graduated in 1980 with a degree emphasizing business law and accounting.  In 1983 Ray received his Juris Doctor from Cumberland School of Law of Samford University and was admitted to the Alabama State Bar Association and the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Middle Districts of Alabama.  He has also been active with the Huntsville Madison County Bar Association having served as president of its Young Lawyers Section, a member of its Executive Committee and a member of its local Ethics Grievance Committee. He is a member of ACA International.  With over 20 years of legal practice, Ray has acquired a broad knowledge and range of legal experience.

Jennifer Allen is a native of Memphis, Tennessee. She earned her B.A. summa cum laude in Applied Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice from Christian Brothers University in 2005. She earned her Juris Doctor Magna Cum Laude from University of Memphis in December of 2008 and is admitted to practice in the states of Alabama and Tennessee and the U.S. District Courts of the Northern & Middle Districts of Alabama. She graduated law school in the top of her class and was a member of The University of Memphis Law Review.
